Neuberger Museum Of Art, Purchase College State University Of New York

The Neuberger Museum of Art is Westchester County's premier museum of 20th century modern and contemporary art. A visit to the Neuberger offers viewers insights into the work of 20th Century masters, emerging artists and cutting edge innovators.

The Neuberger Museum of Art regularly presents twelve to sixteen annual changing exhibitions, artist lectures, poetry readings, family festivals, films, concerts, children's art workshops, outdoor dance events, and Biennial Exhibition of Public Art.

The Neuberger Museum is located on the 500 acre campus of Purchase College, State University of New York (SUNY). With its 78,000 square foot space, the Neuberger is the eighth largest university museum in the country and is among the ten largest museums in New York State. It was designed by the noted architectural firm of Philip Johnson and John Burgee.

In addition to six viewing galleries, the Museum features the indoor/outdoor Museum Café, the Museum Store, exterior sculpture courts, and a CD ROM program that enables visitors to delve into the style, history and artistic vocabulary of more than 200 works of art from the Roy R. Neuberger Collection of 20th century paintings and sculpture.

The Neuberger Museum of Art is situated directly across the street from the world-renowned Donald M. Kendall Sculpture Gardens at the world headquarters of PepsiCo., Inc. Area restaurants offer light meals as well as more elaborate dining. A day trip to the Neuberger Museum could easily combine the PepsiCo Gardens, a gourmet meal, and a shopping expedition to a trendy, nearby White Plains mall or the upscale boutiques of Greenwich, CT.
