Hi my name is Skye, I am the Editor for Museums411 Kids Corner, today I am taking you to High Falls Gorge, in Wilmington NY.

Since Kathryn has been at High Falls Gorge, the Gorge has transformed from just a summer attraction to a summer and a winter attraction. The winter season offers guests the unique experience of viewing the 4 waterfalls and the beautiful ice formations in the winter cold and icy conditions.

In the years to follow she has added snowshoe center and a ski shop. Then in 2009 she removed the ski shop and added the mining activities for her guests to enjoy. She told us that she will be expanding their activities and to make sure to come back again in the winter for a whole new experience. I can't wait to come back in the winter to see her again and have more fun.

We had a lot of fun walking through the gorge and taking photos. I really enjoyed panning for gemstones, I got some awesome stones and a arrowhead to add to my collection of minerals.

I have some great photos that I took and would like to share with everyone; which I hope will make you all to come and visit High Falls Gorge a place that kids of all ages will enjoy; I know I did.

There are a lot of things to do as well as the Gemstone Mining, like having a picnic, or visiting the huge gift shop filled with allot of great stuff for the whole family.
